Meet The Midwives

 

Margie Brandquist, CNM

Margie has been a practicing midwife since 1997. She received her bachelors degree in nursing from The University of Phoenix, and completed her Masters in Nursing and Midwifery at UCLA. She loves working with women throughout their lifespan, and holds a special interest in adolescents. Since the loss of her sister Mary Pettys on Flight 3407 in Buffalo, February, 2009, Margie has been instrumental in lobbying Congress for airline safety legislation. She also designs and sews clothing, and is writing a book, "The Sassy Woman's Approach to Birth," with co- author Brigid Herrick.

Wendy Dotson, CNM

Wendy has had experience with midwifery and nursing in birth centers, homes and hospital settings since 1981. She earned a BSN from George Mason University, and a Masters in Nursing from State University of New York-Stony Brook. She has been a contributing writer in national midwifery publications and nursing texts. Other professional interests include teaching, legislation, natural remedies, and homeopathy. Wendy is a volunteer with non-profit Midwives for Haiti, and travels regularly to train Haitian midwives. She is married, has 2 adult sons, and loves to hike and bike.

Paula Senner, CNM

Paula obtained her BSN from University of Connecticut in 1988 and has enjoyed working in women's health for nearly two decades. She completed a Certificate in Nurse-Midwifery from the Frontier School of Midwifery and Family Nursing and a Masters in Midwifery at Philadelphia University in 2003, just before the birth of her second son. Her professional interests include caring for women of all ages and diverse cultural backgrounds, with a special focus on the childbearing years. She has two active elementary age boys at home and enjoys running, biking, and hiking with them. In 2010, she registered for her first mini triatholon. Paula also enjoys making her own prescious metal clay silver jewelry in her spare time.

Anne Cockerham, CNM

Anne earned a BSN and PhD from the University of Virginia and has devoted her entire professional life to caring for women and childbearing families. Anne holds a full time faculty position at her alma mater, the Frontier School of Nurse-Midwifery and Family Nursing. She feels incredibly honored to not only care for women in clinical practice but also to educate the next generation of midwives, women's health nurse practitioners, and family nurse practitioners. Anne has a special clinical interest in gynecologic care and a research interest in nurse-midwifery history. Anne is married and has two wonderful sons. She loves to walk, read, and spend time with her family.

Courtney Marsh, CNM

Courtney Marsh, CNM joined us (on our 7th birthday!) as our 4th, full-time, full-scope midwife.  Courtney comes to us from Memphis, TN She completed her Masters of Science in Nursing at Yale University in 2003. Courtney's professional passions include labor and breastfeeding support. After work, she and her husband can be found chasing their 3 young daughters, traveling, camping, running, enjoying baseball and dabbling in photography.

Courtney Hasseman, CNM

Courtney is pleased to join the LCM family, though she is not a stranger to the practice ~ the midwives have cared for her throughout the births of her three children.  Courtney holds a BS in Molecular Biology from Grove City College as well as a BS in Nursing from Shenandoah University.  She completed her Masters in Nursing from Shenandoah in 2009, then gained licensure as a Certified Nurse Midwife.  Courtney is an educator at heart.  She loves taking time to teach her patients and, when not at LCM, enjoys home educating her children.  Courtney also enjoys cooking and gardening with her family.
